Saving Walden's World is an award-winning documentary directed by Jim Merkel. It follows Merkel's journey from a former arms dealer and military engineer to a sustainability advocate raising his son Walden on an off-grid homestead. The film explores women-led solutions in Kerala (India), Cuba, and Slovenia, highlighting sustainable societies with universal access to education, healthcare, and women's rights amid climate challenges.
The documentary was screened by Prisma, the film forum of the department, together with the college film club on 28th January 2026. The screening was followed by a very active discussion and interaction.
